This was the best experience I have ever had with an optometrist. I highly recommend this place. Dr. Kim has his patients in mind he is a selfless, kind, courteous and respectful. I drove 70 miles to see him from the inland empire and can honestly say well worth it. Brenda was very sweet, respectful ? and professional she is a valuable asset to the office. She was able to earn my business by squeezing an appointment last minute.

Very enjoyable appointment. My first time in the Irvine location. Making my appointment was very easy. I appreciated the useful detail of which parking lot was best to use. Everything from check-in eye tests to time with Dr. Kim was great; thorough explanations from beginning to end. The assistance I received choosing new frames was very appreciated, as was the clear breakdown of costs pre- and post- insurance. Thanks!

I started my ortho-k journey back in 2017 with Dr. Bruce William at Seattle Vision Care, and he was truly incredible. My lenses were a perfect fit, and he made the whole process feel easy. When I relocated to LA in 2022, I asked for his recommendation, and he referred me to Dr. Chen at Davich Optometry. Dr. Chen did a good job, and the lenses were mostly comfortable, but he couldn’t quite get my right eye perfectly corrected—it was a tiny bit off. Since I’d always been so meticulous about my vision, I decided to check out other options and found Dr. Stanton Kim at Eyecontact Optometry on the AAOMC website, where he was listed as FIAOMC-certified. I thought his certification might mean he could help me get the exact results I wanted.

Sadly, my experience with Dr. Kim was disappointing. After signing an $1800 contract and going through the washout period, he prescribed me MiraClens lenses based solely on auto-refractor readings, which seemed odd. The first pair he gave me overcorrected my vision, and the second was even worse—my eyes were constantly dry, red, and painfully irritated. I wore them, hoping I’d adjust, but every day was tough, and it became a struggle to focus at work. The frequent headaches were just the cherry on top.

When I brought the lenses back, Dr. Kim examined them for the first time and admitted the edges were sharp and poorly made. I was honestly stunned, especially because I’d put so much trust in him. I ended the contract at that point and went back to my old lenses, which were instantly clearer and more comfortable. To top it off, the clinic retained $500 of my payment, which was disappointing after such a rough experience.

If you’re a high-myopia patient looking into ortho-k, I’d suggest making sure you feel confident about the doctor’s approach, the lens brand, and the system they use—those three things together can make all the difference. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend Dr. Stanton Kim or Eyecontact Optometry. On a positive note, I have to mention that the Latina staff member there was lovely and very helpful in explaining the contract. She was the bright spot in this whole experience.

Dr. Kim is a very nice doctor and very patient. however, his staff members are always not friendly and helpful! They just want to get the customs out of the office. It's very hard to have good communication with staff.

very good! And my son got eye allerges, when I call, We make the appointment at the same day! Solve my son's red eye quickly, and I didn't use my insurancan, but charge little!
